4' Transom Strap; 1,500 lbs (2 Pack) is rated 1.8 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Packaging need instructions I bought a pair of straps last week and tried them yesterday. The packaging has no instructions as to how to thread the strap to the handle. It was very frustrating to the point of returning them. But, as I had no other tie downs with me, I fiddled with them for about 20 minutes and finally figured them out. Once properly assembled, the straps are strong and do not loosen. I checked them after driving 15 kilometers and they were still tight despite the boat settling into the trailer. I used them on a 23 ft Cuddy cab weighing 4500lbs. The webbing and the hooks seem top notch and the handle has good leverage without pinching your fingers. The manufacturer should, either, print the instructions on package or print the link to the website. Other than that I would recommend them to other boaters.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from instructions missing? Just went to put these straps on my boat and noticed the lack of instructions. Went online to manufacturer's website and there are instructions if you follow the link for marine straps. I think the problem is that the straps were assembled wrong to begin with which caused me to try and tighten incorrectly. Once I followed the instructions I had to re-thread the strap correctly. Now the straps are very strong and secure. I'm sure these straps get returned all the time just due to the lack of instructions. link to instructions: http://www.smartstraps.com/wp-content/uploads/smartstraps-pn500-instructional-sheet.pdf

Impossible to figure out how to use these straps!! Tried 2 marinas and they couldn't figure it out either. No instructions in the package or online. How incompetent can Smart Straps be?

Asked by: aplu
Go to the smart strap web site. Enter transom tie downs into search box and there will be a pdf on how to thread them.

How do you install these straps? I have tried so many different ways and now the cheap rubber strap just broke on me. I now remember that I bought this same product last year and took it back out of frustration. I need an answer
